Meet The Team

Jacob Smith

Jacob Smith

Managing Director

Jacob Smith comes from a long history of seafaring men and has spent all his life living by and on the sea. He started handling boats from the age of 3 and quickly gained a working knowledge and understanding of the sea and all its complexities. He broke the family tradition of joining the Royal Navy and choose to go to sea at the age of 16, preferring to work in the offshore sector. He was quickly fast tracked and gained his Master’s certificate at the age of 19, gaining valuable experience working on the wind farms on crew transfer vessels and guard ships, standby North Sea. He quickly progressed to senior master and then to fleet supervisor gaining immense experience in all aspects of crew management, health and safety procedures and all areas in boat management whilst building long lasting contacts within the industry. Coming back from Salvage operations down the Mediterranean, Jacob was ready for a new challenge, he decided towage and salvage was where he wanted to commit and set up his own company. Aquatic Towage has completed its first very successful year and is going from strength to strength, building a great reputation for competitive pricing, excellent customer service and high levels of client satisfaction. Jacob has plans to continue to grow the company and is currently looking at securing another vessel to enable him more flexibility and possibilities.

Damian Lockie

Damian Lockie

Sales and Chartering

Grew up around boats, large and small in Madang, Papua New Guinea. Damian took every opportunity to get afloat whether it was an outrigger canoe or a large visiting ship that was visiting the local wharf. Damian returned to the UK with the love of the water continuing albeit a great deal colder, spending a great deal of time surfing, kayaking and sailing eventually qualifying as a skipper, despite warnings from his dads not to follow in his footsteps with a career at sea, he first entered the workboat industry in 1994 and following a skippering career of over 20 years, including a wide variety of vessel types working all over the world, came ashore to run a UK based towage company. Damian continues to occasionally skipper along with a great deal of consultancy project work. Away from the boat, Damian can be found walking the dog on the Isle of Portland or travelling all over the place to take some the photos for this website. Damian is the first point of contact for any clients wishing to use our services.
